Back To Blogging

I’ve always enjoyed writing. It helps unburden thoughts, organize ideas, and it’s always been relaxing for me. I enjoy reading, whether it’s philosophy books, sci-fi novels, history on Wikipedia, or random rabbit holes with GPT, and writing has always felt like a natural extension of that. It’s not really about having readers or sharing anything in particular; it’s about the process of getting things out of my head and onto a page.

So, I decided to give blogging another go. I used to run a WordPress blog where I mostly wrote about cinema and gaming, but as work and life piled up, and gaming remained my main computer hobby, I eventually stopped writing altogether. Now that Chronos is slowly shaving off APMs and dulling reaction times, and gaming isn’t as fun as it once was, writing feels like a better place to invest that time again.

I also wanted a small digital corner of my own. And like almost anyone who develops web applications, I’ve grown a strong allergy to WordPress. That’s why I went with something simple and deliberately low-maintenance: a basic Jekyll site with a minimal, but elegant, Chirpy theme.

I don’t have a fixed category list or a set posting frequency. Cinema will definitely be part of it, even though I don’t go to the theatre as often as I used to. Whether that’s due to availability or Hollywood running out of ideas is unclear, but there are still films I want to write about that I haven’t yet.

There will also be some nerding out about engineering, and possibly some philosophy and politics.

Either way, I plan to keep this corner a bit more alive and organized. Enjoy your stay! Hopefully you’ll find something interesting, or at least mildly entertaining.
